At Safe and Sound, our Parksafe front and rear flush parking sensors provide discreet, factory-style parking assistance without bulky sensors protruding from your bumpers. The system monitors obstacles at both ends of your car and provides clear audible warnings as you move closer.
Why Choose Flush Parking Sensors?
Flush parking sensors are installed neatly within the vehicle’s bumpers, creating a more integrated appearance than traditional raised sensor heads. Their slim visible profile makes them ideal for drivers who want effective parking assistance without compromising the appearance of their car.
The Parksafe OE system uses 58K flush-fit sensor technology to provide reliable coverage and stable obstacle detection. Sensors can also be professionally colour matched to your vehicle where a more discreet, original-equipment-style finish is required.
Front and Rear Parking Assistance
Having flush parking sensors fitted at both the front and rear helps you judge the parts of your vehicle that can be difficult to see from the driver’s seat. This is particularly useful when entering tight parking bays, approaching walls or manoeuvring between other parked vehicles.
The rear sensors activate automatically when reverse gear is selected. The front sensors can be operated using a manual on-and-off switch, allowing you to activate them when parking and switch them off during normal driving.
An optional CAN bus interface may also be available for compatible vehicles. This allows the front parking sensors to activate automatically when the vehicle slows below approximately 6 mph and switch off again as the vehicle accelerates.
Clear Five-Stage Audible Warnings
The Steelmate system uses an OEM-style speaker with five stages of audible warning. The tones become progressively more urgent as your vehicle approaches an obstacle, helping you understand the remaining distance without looking away from your mirrors.
The tone pitch and volume can be adjusted to suit the driver. Optional Steelmate DS1 and DS2 visual displays can also be added where a visible distance indication is preferred alongside the audible alerts.
- Discreet installation: Flush sensor heads sit neatly within the bumpers
- Front and rear coverage: Provides parking assistance at both ends of the vehicle
- Adjustable warnings: Five-stage speaker with adjustable pitch and volume
- Optional displays: Compatible with Steelmate DS1 and DS2 visual indicators
- All-weather design: Built for reliable operation across demanding temperatures
Designed Around Your Vehicle
Permanent accessories can sometimes cause standard parking sensors to trigger unnecessarily. The Steelmate flush parking sensor system can be programmed to recognise and ignore many fixed obstacles, including towbars, nudge bars and rear-mounted spare wheels.
The rear stopping distance can also be configured to approximately 30cm or 50cm. The extended setting can be helpful on vehicles fitted with accessories that project beyond the rear bumper.
The flush sensor heads have a visible external diameter of approximately 16mm and use detachable cables. This helps create a tidy finish while allowing individual system components to be accessed if required.

Professional Flush Sensor Installation
Flush parking sensors require careful bumper removal, measurement and sensor positioning. Safe and Sound will assess your vehicle before installation to confirm that the bumper design and available space are suitable for this style of sensor.
Each sensor must be positioned at the correct height and angle to provide dependable coverage while maintaining a balanced, factory-style appearance. Our professional fitting service ensures the wiring, control units, speakers and activation methods are installed neatly and configured correctly.
Parking sensors are designed to support careful manoeuvring and should always be used alongside your mirrors, direct observation and normal driver judgement. Small, narrow or non-solid objects may not always be detected.
