Clifford Concept 470 Alarm – Supplied & Fitted UK

£470.00

The Clifford Concept 470 is a G5-series one-way vehicle alarm built around glass-break detection, dual-stage impact sensing and programmable starter immobilisation. It suits owners who want a serious security upgrade over factory alarms — daily drivers, vans and older vehicles with weak or no alarm fitted. Every system is professionally installed by Safe & Sound Mobile, with nationwide mobile fitting at your home or workplace.

Key Benefits

  • G5 glass-break sensor – Listens for the frequency of shattering glass and triggers the alarm the moment a window goes.
  • Dual-stage impact sensing – Responds differently to a light knock and a genuine attack, so warnings escalate sensibly.
  • Programmable starter immobilisation – Selectable dual-point immobilisation stops the engine turning over while the system is armed.
  • ACG-2 anti-code grabbing – Stops thieves capturing and replaying your remote’s signal.
  • PlainView2 coded override – A personal code is needed to switch the system off, so a found or stolen switch is useless.
  • Medallion2 programmable siren – Selectable tones and 30, 60 or 90-second sounding durations.
  • Nationwide mobile installation – Fitted at your chosen UK address by a Safe & Sound Mobile engineer.

What’s Included

  • Clifford Concept 470 alarm system
  • Two 5-button extended-range remote controls

  • PlainView2 coded valet/override switch and blue status LED

  • Safe & Sound Mobile aftercare and support

Subscription

No subscription. The Concept 470 is a self-contained alarm system, not a GPS tracker. There is no SIM, no monitoring service, no monthly or annual fee and nothing to renew — you pay once for the system and its installation.

Insurance Requirement

We do not hold a verified Thatcham category for the Concept 470, so please do not buy it to satisfy a policy condition. If your insurer has specified a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser, the Clifford Concept 650 MK3 is the model to look at. Requirements vary between insurers, so always check the exact category specified by your insurer before ordering.

Clifford Concept 470 Alarm System – Supplied and Fitted Nationwide

The Clifford Concept 470 is a one-way vehicle alarm from Clifford’s G5 series, combining a glass-break sensor, a dual-stage vibration and impact sensor and programmable starter immobilisation in a single system. Anti-code-grabbing technology protects the remote signal, and a coded override switch prevents anyone from simply switching the system off. Safe & Sound Mobile supplies it complete with professional installation and handover, fitted nationwide at an address that suits you.

Is the Clifford Concept 470 Right for You?

This is a security upgrade rather than an insurance-category product. It makes most sense on vehicles whose factory alarm is basic, ageing or absent altogether — older cars, work vans, second vehicles, and anything parked on a driveway or street where breaking a window is the obvious way in. The glass-break sensor is the standout feature here, because it reacts to the attack itself rather than waiting for a door to open.

Be clear about what it is not. We cannot verify a Thatcham category for this model, so if your insurer has written a specific requirement into your policy, this is not the product to buy. A Thatcham Category 1 system such as the Clifford Concept 650 MK3 covers that need, and an S5, S5 Plus or S7 tracker covers requirements written around stolen-vehicle recovery. The Concept 470 also has no GPS and no app — it protects the vehicle where it stands rather than telling you where it has gone.

What Is Included?

  • Clifford Concept 470 three-channel alarm system
  • Two 5-button extended-range remote controls
  • Medallion2 programmable tone speaker siren
  • G5 glass-break sensor
  • Dual-stage vibration and impact sensor
  • PlainView2 coded valet/override switch
  • Bright blue LED status indicator
  • Professional installation by a Safe & Sound Mobile engineer
  • Nationwide mobile fitting at your home, workplace or other suitable location
  • Full programming, configuration and handover demonstration
  • Safe & Sound Mobile aftercare and ongoing support
Ongoing costs: none. The Concept 470 does not use a mobile network or a monitoring centre, so no monitoring subscription is included, required or charged separately. The purchase price covers the system and its installation.

Optional upgrades such as SmartWindows window control, IntelliStart remote engine starting and additional sensors or vehicle interfaces are quoted separately. We confirm what your vehicle supports before booking the installation.

Insurance Requirements and Where the Concept 470 Fits

UK insurers describe aftermarket security using Thatcham categories. Category 1 covers systems providing both an alarm and an electronic immobiliser; Category 2 covers immobiliser-only systems; the S5, S5 Plus and S7 classifications describe stolen-vehicle tracking rather than alarms.

We have not been able to verify a Thatcham category for the Concept 470, and we will not claim one. It is sold here as a security upgrade for owners who want better protection than their vehicle came with, not as a way of meeting a written policy condition. That is a perfectly good reason to buy an alarm — most people fitting one are doing it because their car is worth protecting, not because a form told them to.

If your insurer has specified something: requirements vary between insurers, so always check the exact category specified by your insurer before ordering. Where a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser is required, the Clifford Concept 650 MK3 is the correct product. Where a tracker category is specified, you will need a tracking system instead. Call us with your policy wording and we will point you to the right option — including telling you when the cheaper product is not the one you need.

How the Clifford Concept 470 Works

Installation. A Safe & Sound Mobile engineer wires the system into your vehicle, siting the control unit out of easy reach and positioning the siren, glass-break sensor, impact sensor, status LED and coded override switch where each works properly. Sensor sensitivity is then set to suit the vehicle and where it is parked.

Arming and everyday use. The two 5-button remotes arm and disarm the system, operate keyless entry where fitted, and control the auxiliary channels. The parking light flasher confirms each command visually, and the blue LED shows at a glance that the system is live.

Detection. Three things are being watched at once. The dual-stage sensor reads vibration and impact, giving a brief warning chirp for a light knock and a full alarm for a real attack. The G5 sensor listens specifically for the acoustic signature of breaking glass. FACT-2 sits behind both, filtering out the passing lorries and slamming doors that make badly set-up alarms a nuisance.

Response. A trigger sounds the Medallion2 siren for your chosen duration of 30, 60 or 90 seconds and flashes the parking lights. Because the starter immobilisation is armed at the same time, the engine will not turn over even if someone is already inside the car.

Anti-defeat measures. ACG-2 changes the remote code with every use, so a captured signal cannot be replayed later. And the PlainView2 override switch needs a personal code entered before it will disarm anything — finding the switch gets a thief nowhere.

Response, Everyday Use and Ongoing Costs

Alarm Response

The Concept 470 responds locally. There is no monitoring centre, no call handling and no police liaison, because the system has no mobile connection. Its job is to make an attempt on your vehicle loud, obvious and unproductive — siren, flashing lights, immobilised starter — and to do that reliably enough that you are not disabling it after a week of false triggers.

Everyday Use

Day to day you use the remotes for arming, disarming and keyless entry, with two auxiliary channels available for functions configured at installation. There is no smartphone app for the Concept 470. Optional add-ons can extend it — SmartWindows for remote window control and IntelliStart for remote engine starting — and the CliffNet DataPort allows additional Clifford sensors and interfaces to be connected.

Subscription

None, and none is included, because there is no service behind the product to subscribe to. No SIM, no monitoring contract, no renewal date in your diary. Once fitted, the only recurring cost is a remote control battery every so often.

How Nationwide Mobile Installation Works

1. Order Your System

Buy online or call us on 01245 921133. If you are unsure whether the Concept 470 or a Thatcham Category 1 system is the better fit, tell us about the vehicle and we will advise honestly.

2. Arrange Your Installation

Our fitting team contacts you to agree a date, time and location, confirm what your vehicle supports, and discuss any optional extras you want fitted at the same time.

3. We Come to Your Vehicle

A professional mobile installer travels to your agreed address anywhere in mainland UK — home, workplace or elsewhere. No workshop booking, no waiting room.

4. Professional Installation

The control unit, siren, sensors, LED and override switch are installed discreetly and integrated with your vehicle’s electrics, then programmed and sensitivity-tuned to your car.

5. Setup and Handover

We test the system, hand over both remotes, set your PlainView2 override code with you and walk you through arming, disarming, siren duration and any programmed extras before we leave.

Why Choose Safe & Sound Mobile for Clifford Installation?

An alarm is only as good as its installation. Sensor placement, sensitivity settings and where the control unit ends up all decide whether a system stops a theft or simply irritates the neighbours — and those are judgement calls that come from doing the work regularly, which our engineers do.

We install nationwide on a mobile basis, so your vehicle stays where it is and your day carries on. Because we supply alarms, immobilisers and several leading tracker brands, we can give you a straight answer about which product actually solves your problem — including telling you that a different system is the one you need. Every installation ends with a proper demonstration rather than a manual left on the seat, and our support line stays open to you afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Clifford Concept 470

Is the Clifford Concept 470 Thatcham approved?

We cannot verify a Thatcham category for this model, so we do not claim one. It is sold as a security upgrade rather than an insurance-category system. If you need Thatcham Category 1, the Clifford Concept 650 MK3 is the model that carries it, and we fit that nationwide too.

Will the Clifford Concept 470 satisfy my insurer?

Do not assume so. If your policy names a specific category, buy the product that carries it. If your insurer has simply asked what security you have fitted, tell them what this system does and let them respond. Requirements vary between insurers, so always check the exact category specified by your insurer before ordering.

Is installation included with the Clifford Concept 470?

Yes. Professional installation by a Safe & Sound Mobile engineer is included, carried out at your chosen UK address. Programming, sensitivity setup, testing and a handover demonstration are all part of it. Optional extras such as SmartWindows or IntelliStart are quoted separately.

Does the Clifford Concept 470 require a subscription?

No. There is no SIM, no monitoring service and no renewal fee — the system works entirely at the vehicle. Only GPS trackers carry ongoing monitoring costs, because they depend on a mobile network and a monitoring centre to function.

Does the Clifford Concept 470 have a mobile app?

No. It is a one-way system operated by its 5-button remotes, so it does not send status, location or alerts to a phone. If you want location and alerts on your mobile, a GPS tracker does that, and it can be fitted alongside the alarm.

Where can Safe & Sound Mobile install the Clifford Concept 470?

Anywhere in mainland UK. Our installers come to you, so the system can be fitted at home, at work or anywhere else the vehicle can be parked safely while the work is done. Send us your postcode and we will arrange a convenient appointment.

What does ACG-2 anti-code grabbing technology actually do?

Code grabbing means capturing the signal from your remote as you lock the car, then replaying it later to unlock it. ACG-2 changes the code every time the remote is used, so a captured signal is already out of date by the time a thief tries to use it.

Can I add remote start or automatic window closing?

Yes, subject to your vehicle. IntelliStart adds remote engine starting and SmartWindows adds remote power window control, and the CliffNet DataPort allows further Clifford sensors and interfaces to be connected. Ask us before your installation date so everything can be fitted in one visit.

There is no subscription and nothing to renew. Safe & Sound Mobile supplies it fully installed, programmed and demonstrated, fitted nationwide at the address of your choice.
